General Hospital ZENO Knokke-Heist

General Hospital ZENO Knokke-Heist

“Ceci n´est pas un hôpital.” Behind the new Zeno General Hospital in Knokke-Heist there is a clearly thought-out vision: creating a place where healing plays a central role, without feeling like a hospital. Naturally, that goes beyond just an inspiring and futuristic architecture: the interior of the building also has to possess the necessary quality. A thousand functional and stylish panel radiators contribute to the superior class of this innovative care environment. The plans for a new hospital building – one that would replace the current Zeno General in Knokke-Heist – began to take shape about ten years ago. There were two reasons for this: the existing building on the Graaf Jansdijk is located too far away from major arterial roads, and it is increasingly hampered by a lack of possibilities for expansion. An entirely new hospital building at a different location thus seemed the best solution. Zeno General plans to begin its activities in the new building during the summer of 2017.

Many studies have shown that environmental factors play a crucial role in the healing process. As a result, the site for the new hospital building was carefully chosen: the rural character around the Kalvekeetdijk should constitute the foundation for a floating hospital that is dominated by light and nature. In this way, the environment and the architecture form part of the recovery process and the new campus is not just a traditional hospital building: “ceci n´est pas un hôpital.” But the interior of the building must also contribute to an inspiring and high-quality care environment. Top-quality materials, such as the Super 6 panel radiators of Superia, are a priority in this effort. It´s no accident that the radiators owe their name to their superior lacquer and steel quality. The new Zeno General Hospital is located nearthe Superia factory: that offers advantages for the smooth delivery of 1,000 radiators” The new hospital on the Kalvekeetdijk is scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2017.
