Jack Koster, developer from Westerbroek in Groningen, Netherlands, prescribes the Vasco D400 balance ventilation units with heat recovery as standard equipment in his energy-saving luxury home concept. Every hour the D400 unit refreshes 400 m3 of ´stale´ indoor air by evacuating it and supplying fresh outdoor air. “The D400 units ideally meet the demands from our principals with regard to noise and health”, Jack Koster notes when explaining why he chose Vasco. “The buzzing sound of ventilation systems is experienced as highly disturbing.”

With a noise production of 26 decibels, it’s the quietest in the Benelux market. For Koster, the fact that Vasco is the sole supplier on the market to make standard use of electrostatic particulate and pollen filters was yet another argument for prescribing the D400 as standard equipment. “The houses are virtually airtight. Ventilation is necessary for a healthy air quality, and the filters contribute to assuring this. Especially people with respiratory complaints such as asthma benefit from extra clean air.”
