What is the ideal room temperature in your living room, bathroom and bedroom?
Are you wondering what the ideal room temperature is? Naturally, the temperature that makes you feel most comfortable depends on your personal preference. However, there are a couple of guidelines if you want to keep your energy bills as low as possible. Here is a description of the ideal room temperatures for each space.
The best room temperature for your living room
You spend a lot of time in your living room wearing either everyday clothing or pyjamas to watch TV in the evening. Most people find the ideal temperature in the living room to be between 19 and 22 degrees. Others believe ‘the warmer the better’, of course keeping in mind that every degree will also be seen on the bill. Preferably, do not heat to more than 20 or 21 degrees.
Tip: heat your living room with designer radiators. They are not only powerful and efficient, they also add aesthetic value to your interior.
Heating your bathroom optimally
A chilly bathroom is everyone’s worst nightmare. The ideal temperature during use is about 23 degrees, a temperature best achieved with underfloor heating combined with a practical towel radiator.
The bedroom can be a little cooler
We go from the warmest to the coolest room: the bedroom. You will in fact enjoy the best night’s rest if the temperature is no higher than 20 degrees. The thermometer may even be as low as 15 or 16 degrees.
What if you are not home?
The ideal room temperature when you are not at home depends on how long you will be away.
During the day, when you are at work and the children are a school, the heating should rest, so that the temperature drops by no more than a couple of degrees.
If you are taking a trip for a couple of weeks and turn the heating off completely, then the temperature will drop drastically. That can lead to problems with damp. During your absence, it is better to set the thermostat to a moderate temperature, such as 14 degrees.
