EcoDesign 2018 standards: focus points

EcoDesign 2018 standards: focus points

In 2018, the EcoDesign standards became even more stringent. That’s only logical, because we all need to make an effort to manage our energy consumption. But every change brings about new guidelines and which electric radiators can you choose then? This overview will provide clarity.

What does the EcoDesign 2018 legislation entail?

EcoDesign is a set of European guidelines that defines minimum requirements for the energy performance of electrical products. From 2018 onwards, stricter European EcoDesign standards apply to reduce the energy consumption of electrical appliances even further. For example, electric radiators must now have a number of energy-saving features.

Preventing energy waste with E-volve

Gone are the days when electrical heating cost an arm and a leg. We owe that to innovations such as E-volve. This sustainable control for electric radiators combines a discrete design with energy-efficient top performance. E-volve is also available in an RF kit (radio frequency) with an RF thermostat and an RF receiver, discretely mounted under the radiator. Some useful features:

-          Open window detection: if there is a sudden drop in temperature, the radiator automatically switches to a lower position to prevent unnecessary energy consumption.

-          Week programming: set the radiators to suit your living habits. Vasco developed this smart control itself.
