Hill House - Islington London

Hill House is a former 1970s, 13-storey office building, which is part of the Archway Island site in Islington, north London. The proposal was to retain the existing building and convert 12 floors to residential use, housing over 150 flats, recreational facilities and shops in addition to the recently completed hotel on the same development.

The redevelopment involved complete internal refurbishment, re-cladding of the existing façade and general improvements to the immediate streetscape.

Vasco Flat Fronted vertical and horizontal steel radiators (Niva) were submitted to the developer by the contractor as they complement the new clean lines of the bright and airy new apartments. 

The mechanical and electrical work on site, including the installation of the radiators was carried out by Bridgend based contractors’ J W & E Morris & Son, who specified the Vasco radiators for their ease of installation, high heat output and good looks. The radiators were supplied with chrome designer-style monoblock thermostatic radiator valves from the Vasco range, these allowed for easy and quick installation because of the 50mm pipe centres that simply line up with the central bottom connections on the radiator. The Vertical radiators are also secured to the wall by means of a ‘J-Bracket’ system which clamps the radiator at the top and bottom for safety and security.
